This page is for ClearDeck (the board).
These terms cover ClearDeck (the board), ZipCert (certificates) and CostDeck (quotes).
Version 2026-10-05.
The service
- We provide software. We do not design your work, issue a scheme membership, or act as your QS or accountant.
- Where you use certificates, they are signed by the person named on them. Building control and other compliance duties stay your firm's (or your client's).
Accounts
- ClearDeck firm accounts are not on sale.
- Card payment (and BACS where we offer it) is taken by Stripe on their secure page. Invoices are from CLEARDECK LIMITED.
- Plans are billed monthly, prices shown ex VAT, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- ClearDeck customers are businesses. There is no consumer cooling-off under the Consumer Contracts Regulations; the voluntary money-back offer in Fees, cancel and refund applies when advertised at sign-up.
Fees, cancel and refund
- Prices on cleardeck.uk are monthly and ex VAT unless stated.
- You can cancel from billing in the product (or by emailing andrew@cleardeck.uk). Access and data-retention follow the plan rules in force when you cancel.
- If we advertise a money-back period at sign-up, ask within that period for a full refund of fees paid for that first window. After that window, fees already billed are not refundable except where UK law requires.
Certificates and photos
- Your firm is the controller of the personal data it puts into ClearDeck, ZipCert and CostDeck. CLEARDECK LIMITED is the processor and acts on your firm's instructions.
- An issued certificate is kept for 15 years from issue or until the next test date, whichever is later, even if a person is removed from your account or deletes their own copy.
- Photos are not attached to certificates. All job photos, which live in job packs, are kept for 6 years from upload, unless your firm clears the pack sooner.
- We may keep records for longer where the law requires it.
Your firm
- You are responsible for who you allow in, for the jobs and figures you enter, and for keeping downloaded certificates.
Our side
- We will run the service with reasonable care.
- We will not pretend a button that does not work.
Liability
- We are not liable for loss of profit or for work on site. Nothing here limits liability that UK law does not allow us to limit.
Law
- England and Wales.
